Takeda Shingen① “What is Shingen Mochi?”

Phraseology

Fantastic Red Wrapping

Let me introduce a famous Japanese souvenir. “Shingen Mochi” is distributed to Japanese Gift shops and it’s from Yamanashi Prefecture. The name is derived from Takeda Shingen. He loved red colored armor and these Japanese sweets are also wrapped with beautiful Red paper, in homage to him.  This package contains Black Honey and Kinako Powder(Roasted Soybean Flour). Those 2 toppings really go well with the Japanese Mochi texture.

In New York City, when I used to prepare and serve the Japanese Style Mochi Ice Cream which had Black Honey and Kinako Toppings, 99% of customers were satisfied with it. Not to mention the taste, it looks very cute and mystical.

In the Tokyo area, you can get “Shingen Mochi ” at the Tokyo Station. Let’s check it out, if you stop by there. This fantastic Red wrapping is already delicious, before you open the package. This is one of the best souvenirs in Japan. Beyond the beautiful “Red”, you will have a good day!

Double Work Samurai

“Takeda Shingen ” is one of the famous Samurai in the 16th century. He was born in Yamanashi Prefecture which was called Kai Area.

Takeda Shingen’s famous saying is, “Human feelings are stone walls. Human resources are our castle. Reliability is the total defence.”

His Samurai corp was also known as one of the strongest teams. But the truth is, Shingen strongly hated his warrior’s death in the battle. Because he focused on the fact that most samurai soldiers have double works as agricultural workers. Their main job was cultivating agricultural crops.

The Importance of Human Resources Management

Takeda Shingen focused their agricultural productivity more than other Samurai corps. Therefore he was not interested in their results of war and complete win. In his team, the draw was even allowed to his subordinate, because he didn’t want to lose his human resource. He never chased his enemy too far, because citizens are a valuable productive force.

Moreover, he treasured information gathering and that’s his other strong point. Then, the latest Samurai news was always collected by him. In this way, he could match up equally to strong and experienced enemies.
