Phraseology

“Tsukiji Chronicles and Their Pride”

As you might know, “TSUKIJI fish market” closed permanently 5 years ago. Even if everything changes, their legacy will never die. “Tsukiji” is for everyone’s market forever, and we are proud of them. We will succeed in their enthusiasm in the kitchen.

Thankfully, some good wholesalers are still doing their businesses at the “TSUKIJI Outer market”. So they are kind of still open and we can find nice items there. Of course, you can go sightseeing if it’s finally safe in the world.

In addition, Tsukiji market breakfast is a perfect plan for a trip. You will enjoy real Japanese food at the beginning of the day. I also recommend Tsukiji bowl to you. Atmosphere at Tsukiji makes the rice bowl more tasty. Same activity as Tsukiji break first, coffee break at Tsukiji is a beautiful idea. You can feel Chef’s routine in the morning.

However time has passed, Tsukij district is a special place for all Japanese Chefs and foodies. In the future, when you are sightseeing around Tokyo, please check it out.

“Sound of Tsukiji word”

“TSUKIJI” fish market did a great job the same as the”NIHONBASHI Fish Market”. All the restaurant workers always trusted their work and products. And it was a special important place for Chefs in Tokyo. The word of Tsukiji is reliable adjective which means fresh and delicious. It’s a beautiful sound and the perfect spice for all Japanese dishes.

“The Great Kanto Earthquake”

Long time ago, there were many canals and waterways in Tokyo, and “Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market” grew up with those beautiful rivers. This fertile waterfront created the gourmet city “EDO-TOKYO”.

Unfortunately, this bustling market “NIHONBASHI” was forced to shut down permanently, because the Great Kanto Earthquake occurred in 1923. This huge disaster destroyed everything in the market and it was one of the biggest accidents for Japanese food culture.

“The landfill which was the most bustling place in the world”

After the earthquake, many rivers and canals filled up for new urban planning. The government decided to reopen the new fish market there. And, one of those landfills was named “Tsukiji”.

Tsukij is accessible to midtown Tokyo. Moreover, Ginza district is the closest city from there. Since the Taisho period, fresh Tsukiji products helped all the professional kitchens in Tokyo. And this bustling market was running for over 80 years, on rainy, windy, snowy, and even stormy days.

“Unsung Heroes of Tokyo Olympics”

In 1964, many athletes gathered from around the world for the “Tokyo Olympic 1964”, and Tokyo became a very famous city. While everyone enjoyed an olympic boom, Tsukiji wholesalers continued to distribute fresh foods to restaurants and city markets, endressly.

“The decade anterior to Tokyo Olympic 2020”

In 2011, the city of Tokyo was devastated, because of the Great East Japan Earthquake. All of East Japan was damaged. But “TSUKIJI” never gave up on distributing fresh foods. They carried on and on.

In 2018, the city of Tokyo decided to move the “Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market” to a new place again. But “Tsukiji” is trying to be a good market for all of Tokyo people and everyone.

Tsukiji is an important place for all Japanese food culture and dishes. Even I was working in United States, I ordered some products from Tsukiji wholesalers, frequently. Because, the adjective “Tsukiji” is the beautiful presentation and the perfect spice for all Japanese dishes.

Even in the 21st century, Tsukiji market is still remarkable place for everyone.
